Mrs G Openshaw - Reception Teacher & EY Leader

Welcome message from Mrs Openshaw, Reception Teacher and EY Phase Leader:

Welcome to R Respect. It was lovely to see all the children in their new uniforms this week. They are settling in well and quickly learning our routines and expectations. I look forward to chatting to you all over the coming days and months. I am available most mornings and afternoons at the gate if you ever need to speak to me.

R Respect Class Organisation

PE Day for R Respect is every Tuesday in the morning.

Rhyme of the Week - Each week we will send home a rhyme for you to learn and sing with your child. A copy of this can be found further down the page.

Reading - It is best to start sharing books with your child every day, little and often starting now if you don't already. Once the children are settled and we have got to know them, we will start to send reading books home with them for you to practise their reading skills. Then we will have a home/school record book that goes with this for parents to complete. More information on this to follow.

Lunch - Reception lunch time is 11.30am - 12.15pm. Please ensure all packed lunch bags and containers are fully labelled on the outside. Please DO NOT include any nut products in your child's lunch, as we have a child in our school with a severe nut allergy.

Snacks - The snack table is open to children all day. It includes healthy breakfast cereals, milk, breadsticks and crackers. The cost of this is 50p per week, payable to the class teacher. When doing so, please do not hand in loose change. Instead, ensure it is in a closed envelope with your child's name on.

Music - Our class will be taking part in Music sessions, delivered by Presto Music each Friday morning.
