Year 2 Class Information

This half term in Year 2, we have lots of exciting new learning planned.

Please always remember to ask a member of the Year 2 team if you have any worries or concerns. We are often busy in the morning but either Miss Barron or Miss Stirrup will be on the door and will pass on any messages. Communicating with us will help to make sure your child is happy in our school.

The class teachers in Year 2 are Miss Barron and Miss Stirrup. The Year 2 Teaching Assistants are Mrs Jepson, Ms Peel, Mrs Probulis and Miss Pickering.

Homework & Spellings

Maths and English homework will be set each Friday on DB Primary, which can be accessed online. If children cannot access the internet at home, they will be given allocated time at school to complete it.

A spelling rule will also be sent home on a regular basis.

If you have any questions about a homework activity, please speak to the class teacher before Wednesday and we will be happy to explain it.

In Year 2, children need to read at least 3 times per week. Please remember to record when they have read at home so that we can keep track of who is reading on our reading chart.

This half term we will be doing PE on a Monday afternoon and on a Friday afternoon, so full PE kit will be required. Please ensure that PE kits remain in school for the full half term.

Friday afternoon PE sessions will consist of Real PE - children will develop their agility, coordination and team work skills through a variety of activities.

Monday afternoon sessions will be for games - the children will develop ball skills, including catching, throwing and working together as a team.
