  • It is important to make sure your child comes to school in the correct school uniform. No trainers please

  • If you would like to volunteer to read with the children in Year 3, please see one of the Year 3 members of staff.

In Year 3, we ask children to read at least three times a week with an adult at home. Once your child has read, please sign their reading record book. Every time your child reads, they will be given a raffle ticket for our weekly reading raffle! If their raffle ticket is lucky enough to be picked, they will win a prize on a Friday. You have to be in it to win it!

Homework will be set on a Friday and will be due on the following Wednesday. A maths and English homework will be given. Your child will also have a log in for TT Rockstars. This is a fantastic website for them to practise their times tables and battle against each other to win coins! A new spelling rule will be sent out every two weeks so your child can practise these words ready for their spelling test in school.

P.E. is every Thursday. Please make sure your child has a white t-shirt, black shorts or leggings and black pumps or trainers. Please can you ensure that any earrings are removed on a Thursday in preparation for the lesson. If they cannot be removed please teach your child how to put plasters over them.

Unlike Year 2, Year 3 children do not receive free school meals unless you qualify by completing a form from the office. School dinners are £2.20 and funds must be added to your child’s ParentPay account. If you do not have a login then please see the office staff. Lunch time is between 12:15pm-1.05pm.

At break time the children have the option to buy toast. They are 25p each. Please make sure children bring money to school if they wish to purchase this at break time. You can also provide your child with fruit.
