Mrs G Openshaw - Reception Teacher & EY Leader

Welcome message from Mrs Openshaw, Reception Teacher and EY Phase Leader:

Please see below for HOME LEARNING

I am really proud of RRespect and all of the learning that they have achieved so far this year.  I hope that through these really difficult times you will continue to support them in moving their learning forward by accessing the resources below.

Thank you for your continued support.  Please keep in touch through Tapestry.

Spring 1

As we have now switched to remote learning, we will deliver live lessons through Zoom at 9.30am and 12.30pm. A follow activity must then be completed and uploaded to Tapestry by 9am the next day. We will also upload a phonics video for children to watch and activity to complete that day, this must also be uploaded to Tapestry by 9am the following day.

If you need support for your child's home learning please get in touch with us through school or via Tapestry. If you need the Zoom meeting please look at Tapestry or contact us for us to give you the details.

Phonics and Reading

Please continue to read daily with your child. Please record this in their reading records.

We change books in school on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

You can access books that are graded to your child's level via theReading Eggs app. Your child's login details are in their reading record.

Your child should be writing daily.    They should be writing the sounds they can hear in each word and be learning how to put finger spaces between each word.  You can take photos of their writing and upload them to Tapestry.

You have access to DB primary  (our online learning platform).  The link to this can be found in the bottom right hand corner of our school website.  You have log in details for this inside your child's reading record.

I have put some fun maths games on here that will teach them some of the concepts that we have been learning in school

R Respect Class Organisation

PE Day for R Respect is every Friday morning.

Rhyme of the Week - Each week we will send home a rhyme for you to learn and sing with your child. A copy of this can be found further down the page.

Reading - It is best to start sharing books with your child every day, little and often starting now if you don't already. Once the children are settled and we have got to know them, we will start to send reading books home with them for you to practise their reading skills. Then we will have a home/school record book that goes with this for parents to complete. More information on this to follow.

Lunch - Reception lunch time is 11.30am - 12.15pm. Please ensure all packed lunch bags and containers are fully labelled on the outside. Please DO NOT include any nut products in your child's lunch, as we have a child in our school with a severe nut allergy.

Snacks - The snack table is open to children all day. It includes healthy breakfast cereals, milk, breadsticks and crackers. The cost of this is 50p per week, payable to the class teacher. When doing so, please do not hand in loose change. Instead, ensure it is in a closed envelope with your child's name on.

Music - Our class will be taking part in Music sessions, delivered by Presto Music each Friday morning.
