Our Governing Body

Our Governing Body meet two or three times each term.  We also have a pay committee, which meets once a year to make decisions about staff pay.

Meet The Governors

Ruth Agnew: Chair of Governors

Co-opted governor, appointed by the governing body

Ruth is an experienced governor and is currently a governor at Culcheth High School and at Fox Wood Special School, as well as having formerly been a governor at Birchwood Community High School and Chair of Governors at Dallam Primary School. She has two teenage children, one at university and the other at Birchwood College. She is a National Leader of Governance, meaning that she works with the National College for Teaching and Leadership to support other chairs of governors.

Stephen Guest: Joint Vice Chair of Governors

Stephen was originally a governor at the infant school before it merged with the juniors and is now a co-opted governor and vice chair. Stephen was originally asked to be a governor at the time schools began managing their own budgets, as he was an accountant and the school believed he could help them with doing so. He is on the governing body now because he is interested in education in this country and particularly keen to help Beamont to progress in any way that he can.

Amina Alansi: Joint Vice Chair of Governors

Amina is a parent governor, elected by the parents of Beamont and currently has two sons at the school - one in reception and the other in year 6. Over the years, Amina has valued the support provided by the school and wanted to give something back. As a direct link to parents, she can bring their views forward and act as their voice to help to improve the school.

 

 

Marc Stanton

Marc was appointed a co-opted governor at Beamont in May 2018. He understands that it is vital that all children get the best education possible. Marc believes that his background in business will bring plenty of new ideas and energy to the board of Governors at Beamont. He grew up in the Warrington & Runcorn area and now works locally, leading a team of people across sales, marketing and logistics. He is happily married with two daughters, aged 14 & 12.

Karen Morris

Karen has been the Headteacher of Beamont for over seven years now, and she could not be more proud of the school and all of it's progress and achievements. This is her second headship in Warrington and is a role she loves doing. She considers working with the children and staff of Beamont every day to be a wonderful gift. She has two children of her own, one aged 12 now attending high school, and one aged 6 who is in Year 1 of a local Warrington primary school. 

Joanne Warburton

Gill Openshaw

Gill joined the governing body in 2017 after working at Beamont since 1995. Over the years, she has gained experience teaching in many roles across all Key Stages. Gill specialises in Early Years, and she has held curriculum responsibilities for History, Geography, Maths and Science. She currently holds responsibility in an area she is passionate about - English as an Additional Language. Aside from Beamont, she is a mother of two girls - one is at university whilst the other is at high school. 

Vikki Lovato

Vikki is a new governor who currently works as the Data Manager for Warrington Primary Academy Trust. She has worked in the education sector for 14 years within Local Authorities, including 9 years working with Education data for Warrington Borough Council. She is committed to being involved with Beamont and helping the school and the children to achieve the best outcomes they can.

 

Louise Cooper

Louise is an Assistant Headteacher in a Trafford secondary school and she oversees lower school (from years 7 to 9), SEND and Pupil Premium. Her main focus within her roles is to level playing fields for all children, so that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. 

Claire Marriott

Claire is delighted to have been elected as Parent Governor for Beamont. She is a proud mother of two daughters, both of which attend the school. Claire has lived locally all her life and even attended Beamont herself, so she is hopeful that she will be able to help the school in continuing to provide excellence in education, whilst building stronger relationships between the parents and the school.
