Before school
Children have staggered start times for every year group bubble in 2020-21. We ask parents and carers to bring children to school ready for their start time, and wait on their allocated number outside of their allocated colour gate. Pleae do not arrive too early or wait too near the gates as we have organised shcool to promote social distancing in line with the current government guidance. Once your child has entered school, please move away quickly so that the next year group bubble can line up.
If children are wearing face masks when they arrive to school, they are to remove them at the gate and their parent/ carer should take it home. This is in line with the DfE guidance for the full opening of schools.
Start of day procedures
Once children have entered the school site at the allocated gate, with their class teacher, they will wash their hands before entering the building. Children will use their allocated coat peg to store their outdoor coats and their small bag if they have one. Their packed lunch boxes (if they have one) will be stored on top of the cloakroom cupboards.
Hometime
Children in all year groups up to and including Year 4 must be collected by a named adult at the end of the day. Parents and carers will wait outside the allocated gate and class teachers will bring the children to the gate for the correct time.
As the children in Years 5 and 6 are becoming more independent, parents/ carers may choose to give them permission to walk home alone; permission must be sent in on email to the main office email address from a parent/ carer. The request can be made anytime throughout the year, and permissions can be changed in writing by the parent (via email). The Year 5 and 6 children will be escorted to the gate and will leave at their point in the line. Parents/ carers may choose to allow their child to bring a mobile 'phone into school if they are walking home alone.
After-school clubs
At the end of an after-school club, teachers will follow the same procedures as above.
Wasps
If your child is being collected by Wasps for after-school childcare, they will wait in a designated space for the staff team to arrive and take them to Wasps setting. In a morning, the Wasps team will bring the children to school in time for the first group to enter class (8.30) and will wait in their designated area until their class enter school.
School day procedures
These are available on our policies page. Please note that during the coronavirus pandemic, these procedures are kept constantly under review and are subject to change, possibly at short notice, in line with our school's risk assessment.
